Onyx

Onyx is a calcareous stone, formed by dissolving limestone and re-deposited as a new kind of stone. In caves, drip water forms onyx as stalactites and stalagmites. Onyx’s swirls of color and translucent character impart natural drama to the stone. Onyx can be found on walls, floors, fireplace surrounds and vanity or bar tops.
